چکیده

The mechanism of hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase 1 (HPRT1) upregulation and its function in head neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) remains obscure. Herein, the expression HPRT1 underlying HNSCC were explored. Firstly, prognostic values simultaneously validated using bioinformatic analysis quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR), immunohistochemistry staining with local samples. effects knockdown on proliferation invasion cells detected counting kit-8 (CCK-8), plate clone formation, Transwell invasion, nude mouse xenograft model assays. Moreover, miRNA targeting was dual-luciferase report assay, qRT-PCR Western blot analysis. functions dependence further investigated HNSCC. results indicated that highly expressed tissues cells, which positively correlated advanced tumor progression predicted poor prognosis patients markedly inhibited both vitro vivo. MiR-125b-5p, downregulated a favorable outcome for patients, directly targeted expression, subsequently suppressed Collectively, present study demonstrates upregulation, at least partially caused by miR-125b-5p downregulation, could promote malignant HNSCC, highlighting potential application miR-125b-5p/HPRT1 axis as novel indicator target diagnosis treatment

Downregulation of TMEM40 by miR-138-5p suppresses cell proliferation and mobility in clear cell renal cell carcinoma

Background: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) represents approximately 70% of RCC,as the most frequent histological subtype of RCC. MiR-138-5p, a tumor-related microRNA (miRNA), has been reported to be implicated in the diverse types of human malignancies, but its role in ccRCCremains unclear. Objective: The study was designed to investigate the function...

Density of mast-cells and Microvessels Density in head and neck cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Background and Aim: Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) is the second most common skin cancer. Mast cells may play a role in tumor progression and metastasis by increasing angiogenesis. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of mast cells by increasing angiogenesis in invasion of head and neck cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional stud...

Incidence of Etiologic Factors in Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck in Ahvaz

Introduction: Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the most common head and neck malignancy. Smoking, alcohol consumption, viral infections, exposure, oral hygiene, and dietary, genetic, and occupational factors are the most important etiologic factors. The aim of this study was determining the incidence of etiologic factors in head and neck SCC.  Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectiona...

Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Inflammation in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) represents a large majority of cancers arising from the head and neck, especially the oral cavity. Despite advances in therapy, the five-year survival rate remains low due to the number of patients presenting advanced stages of the disease. The role of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in tumorigenesis in HNSCC remains unexplored. The current ...

MicroRNA-138 suppresses invasion and promotes apoptosis in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cell lines.

Metastasis is a critical event in the progression of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). To identify microRNAs associated with HNSCC metastasis, six paired HNSCC cell lines with different metastatic potential were examined. Using microarrays, a panel of differentially expressed microRNAs was identified, including reduction of miR-138 in highly metastatic cells. Ectopic transfection o...
